Old Farm Lake Winners of City of Bloomington Beautification Award

There are many beautiful homes in Old Farm Lakes.  Many homeowners take a great pride in the appearance of their property.  Many hours of hard yard and garden work has turned several properties into winners.  The City of Bloomington holds an annual Beautification Awards contest.  Last year the homeowner at 3421 Fountain Lake Drive was the recipient of this award.  This year two properties in Old Farm Lakes received the award, 11 Cygnet Crossing and 17 Lexis Court.   Pictures are included in the News page (top left).  The pictures do not really do these properties justice, drive by and check out these beautiful yards and gardens.  17 Lexis Court is best viewed from Constitutional Trail or White Eagle Road.

We hope this motivates others in Old Farm Lakes continue this trend and do some yard beautification and perhaps next year we will have several more winners.

The Bloomington City Council eliminated the collection of sod, dirt, concrete, rock and shingles as bulk waste.  Residents or owners wanting such material picked up by city crews need to call the Public Works Department at 309-434-2225 to arrange for collection.  Residents or owners will be responsible for the full cost of pick-up and disposal.  These changes also apply to the drop-off facility at East and Jackson Streets.
